Accomodation in Port Dickson

There are a variety of accommodation that you could choose from in Port Dickson. You can choose from 5 star accommodations to apartments with a kitchen that you can cook in. My wife and I love to stay in different locations when we are in Port Dickson so as not to be bored every time we are there. Here are some of the places we have stayed. These are my comments, how I felt about that place they might have done some renovations or upgrading but the location will never change.

Hotels in Port Dickson

Avillion Port Dickson
It was my wife’s birthday and I wanted something special for her. So I chose Avillion because of it had water chalets. I felt it would be romantic to stay above the sea. I took their honeymoon package. And Avillion didn’t let us down. The room was made of wood. It had an open air shower and bath. The package comes with a bouquet of roses, candlelight dinner for two, a neck and face massage for two and two days of breakfast. The resort is surrounded with lots of greeneries and flowers which make you feel like you are in another place like in Bali perhaps. This is the place to go if you want to go on your first honeymoon or many honeymoons like us.

Corus Port Dickson Stayed here twice. Once because I had a free voucher. The hotel rooms we got overlook the sea. The room was beautifully decorated and well equipped. On weekends and public holidays there are a lot of families as this is quite a big hotel. So this is the hotel to avoid if you want peace and quiet. On the beach there is a small man made lagoon but the water is a little murky, it was not to inviting to swim. The pool iss really big with waterslides for the kids but we rather swim in the sea. So we didn’t use the pool. For dinner we had the BBQ by the lagoon. The atmosphere was nice with the sea breeze blowing but it was a liitle dark. The lighting was no addequate. This is a nice resort for families to stay.

Eagle Ranch Resort We took the log cabin. It had simple decoration, a comfortable bed and open air bathroom. There is no phone in the room so there were no room service. The best part of the Eagle Ranch is the activities they offer. There is archery (which my wife beat me at), paintball (should you have a group above 8 persons), canoeing, go-kart (which my wife beat me again- I let her win) and also a small spa which was under renovation when we were there. There is also horse riding and pony riding. It’s a fun place for kids and also the kids at heart.

Selesa Beach – Now The Grand Beach Port Dickson Selesa Beach Resort is located about 10 minutes drive from the Port Dickson round about. It’s easy to locate as the building is designed with the traditional Minangkabau architecture. I feel that the hotel is located on the best stretch of beach due to its clean white sand. This time around I noticed that the beaches in PD are really clean. Good Job goes to the PD Municipal Council. The hotel is quite old but pretty well maintainedd. The plus point is that this resort is close by to eateries around PD. The hotel has a baby pool, a large, games room, gym and also an air-conditioned kid’s room. For me this is a one of the better hotel for families if you are in Port Dickson.

Other little resorts in Port Dickson

Seri Malaysia Port Dickson Like all the Seri Malaysia hotels, this is a budget hotel it’s only RM140 per night. The one in Port Dickson is strategically located just across Teluk Kemang beach. Within walking distance to Pasar Malam (Night Market) and 7 km from Port Dickson town. The rooms are simple in decoration with only a shower, TV was about 14inches and there is only one outlet. The breakfast that comes with the room package is very simple. Well don’t expect much as the rack rate for this hotel is only RM140 per night. The plus point about this hotel it’s very near to stalls or shops selling food and souvenirs. And not forgetting the Pasar Malam on weekends. Bourganvilla Resort I came across this resort when I saw there were a lot of good comments on this resort in Facebook. There were some nice pictures too. The resort is hidden away just at the back of Ocean View Resort about 15km from Port Dickson town. It can be reached by a small road. We missed the turning because there was not much signage’s up. But I found the resort to be nice and cosy. The room was clean and so was the garden. The only drawback was the beach was a walking distance away. As we normally checking on weekdays, the resort was very quiet. The other drawback that I can think of was there were no food outlet and the small road made it difficult to go to town. If you don’t mind that, than this is a great place to relax. Another thing to note is that they only accept payments in cash. So far these are the place I’ve stayed in Port Dickson. These are only one man’s comments. Judge for yourself because different people have different expectations. Come back often to discover more of my Travels at Malaysia.

D’Wharf Hotel & Serviced Residence Port Dickson Negeri Sembilan – Hotel Review

D’wharf Hotel & Serviced Residence Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan was what we chose this time around. As we couldn’t travel across the border. Also D’wharf hotel also had a very large pool, I feel the largest in Port Dickson. So the kids could enjoy the swimming anytime they feel like it. They have been couped up at home for almost a month. Pity them. They needed to let off steam.

It was a beautiful Morning Walk in PD Waterfront as the weather was great today. PD Water front is a beachfront development in Port Dickson Town. Its a nice place to walk and in the mornings, there are people jogging or walking.

Along the road there is a bank and little food shops like PappaRich, Domino Pizza, King's Bakery and many more. At night on weekend PD Waterfront comes alive with little stalls selling or renting out items to make soap bubbles. So there will be alot of kids and even adults playing soap bubbles.

Medan Ikan Bakar MPPD Port Dickson is our go to place for affordable seafood. There are three different restaurant at the Medan Ikan Bakar. Our favourite restaurant is the Restoran Nelayan . We found that the seafood is slightly cheaper than the other two. Its my opinion only. Survey yourself.

We normally take a siakap. One half is cooked tiga rasa and the other half grilled. For my sons is either buttered prawns or fried crabs. I like to have a small plate of kangkong belacan.

Our meal for five (2 adults and 3 kids) with some drinks cost us RM117. Prices may vary due to season. So please check first.

The other restaurant is on the sea with an excelent view of the sea.

My Verdict:-

The place was clean. Service was fast and food was good. We had a siakap fish, 4 buttered prawns, kankong belacan, lala masak pedas and 6 drinks. The bill came up to RM117.
(please note:- the total above is at the time of posting. Prices may vary.)
