Restaurant Review – Food Paradise at Dataran Pahlawan Melaka Megamall

Food Paradise – Food Court with a Difference

Hatten 1Being in the Food and Beverage Industry I am always on the lookout for unique and one of a kind food experience. Not only in unique food and beverages but unique dining experience. Recently a friend told me of this food court in Dataran Pahlawan Melaka Megamall which is located just in front of Hatten Hotel. Its called Food Paradise.
The unique thing about this food court is that they have incorporated the Melaka Street culture without the heat and the dust.
We parked our car in the Hatten Hotel carpark and walked over to Dataran Pahlawan Melaka Megamall via a covered and air conditioned link bridge. Which is good, cause the traffic there is horrendous. Apart from the local Malaysian dishes, they also have western dishes like Chicken Chop, Pasta Bolognaise and Carbonara. They even have a Sushi Counter like the ones at Sushi Kin but instead of the conveyor like most sushi outlets have, they float the sushi on little boats and float the boats around on a small river round the counter. A very innovative idea. The prices are reasonable, similar to other food courts in Melaka. As for seating, might be uncomfortable for some as they are using benches without any backrest. This is to suit their theme. There’s also a few shops selling sourvenirs there.

My Verdict.

The food here is nice coupled by the deco.you feel that you are dining at road side stalls minus the heat, sun and dust. Go for the nyonya mee curry. I love mee currythat uses coconu milk and the one sold at Food Paradise is nice. Food Paradise is a great place to have lunch while you walk around the sights and sounds of Historical Melaka.
