My Hotel Review :- Lexis Suite Penang

Came here for a team building sometime in April. The location is very far from the town which made it an ideal location for team building. There is no place for us to escape.

As we came in as a group, our check in was fast. The room was spacious with two queen beds, along with a private pool and a sauna. The pool was smaller than the one at their sister property Grand Lexis Port Dickson. We got the room with the view of the villages. But it was ok. With the hectic team building schedule we didn’t have time to appreciate the view.

The breakfast was served in Roselle Coffee. Priced at RM35 per per person. The Buffet Breakfast was not large but it was adequete for me. The breakfast varies from Malaysian, Japanese to Western dishes. Lunch for us was a Bento set at their Umi Japanese Restaurant. The staffs was exceptionally helpful and obliging. Food was OK.

Apart from the swimming pool and sauna in your room, there are also other activities like kidz zone, congkak, chess, snooker and foosball. All located next to the public pool on the 8th floor. There also a gym and a spa on the 8th floor. The gym opened at 6am, which was great. I could work out before having breakfast.

Verdict:-

The hotel is great. Rooms are huge and clean and the little pool is very nice to chill in.

It’s an perfect getaway for those searching for peace and quiet. Far from the hustle and bussle of the city. The hotel is only 10-15 minutes from the Penang International Airport.

It is close to a beach but you can’t use it for swimming and there are not water sports available. There is no crystal clear water to swim in.

If you looking for some activity or some form of entertainment, then this is not the place for you. There is not much to do around the hotel. Hotel is far from George Town and most of the attractions are on the other side of the island. There is no outside food places or shopping malls available near the hotel. All the places are in driving distance and not within the walking distance. Its in the middle a small village and most restaurants close by, serve local foods. But the hotel provides daily shuttle service to a nearby mall (Queensbay Mall) & Penang town near Komtar.

Other than that it was a nice stay in the hotel.

Kampung Pinang Sebatang Chalet, Pengkalan Balak – A Short Staycation

Our first staycation after the Lockdown. I to escape as I had a busy fourteen days. Picked some place close by as I had two days off. What’s more, didn’t want to drive far. So the closest beach destination from Port Dickson was Pengkalan Balak.

I bought two of this Car Backseat Inflatable Air Bed for our travels. As my Perdua Alza have 3 rows of seats, I thought by buying two backseat inflatable beds, I could join them together to make a bigger bed. I have found out that normal inflatable beds is not possible for my MPV due to the shape of the seat. But it was a bad idea cause the kids slipped through the cracks. And also it was really uncomfortable for them.

Well here is my review about this car backseat inflatable bed. There are two air inlets similar to other inflatable bed. The bottom one is for the leg area, sort of a stand holding the bed up. The bed fits most cars and it took me less that 4 minutes to fill both sections.

If you turn the inflatable bed over, you can make it sort of a soda for watching movies outside.

My Verdict

Its convinient if you have a normal sedan and you are travelling alone. As it fits the size of your seat, its quite comfortable for a person below 5 feet. However if you 6 feet like me you have to curl yourself up. But this car seat inflatable air bed will come in handy if you need a comfortable mattress for your kids to sleep.
