Farm in the City, Fun Outing for the Budak Bandar

Farm in the City in Seri Kembangan is by far Malaysia’s Premier Petting Zoo.The whole area is surrounded by nature with trees and animals. So its rather cooling. To date its the best petting zoo in Malaysia that we have come across. Animals are here are quite tame. My sons especially loved feeding the racoons.

There are lots of animals roaming around especially chickens and roosters. My own two budak bandar boys loved chasing chickens around.

My eldest loved the Longkang Fishing. Well nowadays the drain in our area don’t have many fishes like what we had when we were small.

My number two loved trying to catch the rabbits at the Pet Village.

Here are some pictures of whats in store when you visit Farm in the City.

My Verdict

A fantastic place for families with children to spend their day. The kids can have a feel of holding and petting animals. It such a good experience for kids to have an exposure with these animals. Don’t worry, there is alot of wash basins with soap throughout the park. Go early in the morning. Noon time most animal were seen resting. Probably too tired entertaining kids. Bring some loose notes. There’s little vending machine around the park providing food for the animals. Your kids will have an fun time, mine did. They also have a little cafe, so the kids won’t be hungry. The tickets cost about RM116 for the four of us.It was well worth it.

Muzium Kota Lukut is a small museum on top of the hill near the ruins of an old fort . There is nothing left of the Kota Lukut (Old Fort) but there is the museum that shows you the history of Lukut. Very Interesting. The entrance is free and lots of parking.

Japanese Village Bukit Tinggi is located near Colmar Tropicale. The Japanese  Village is located 3.500 feet above sea level.

To get there you have to go up a steep winding road. I suggest you take the Shuttle Bus from Colmar Tropicale so as not to tax your car.

There were supposed to be a Japanese Tea House where you can have tea and take out photos using a kimono. But it was closed. Perhaps it was the weekday. Even the Spa was closed.

My Verdict :-

Must have been a beautiful place pre covid.

Now the garden looks abandon. Hope they set it back soon. Such a waste. The teahouse and the spa was closed. So wanted to take a photo of my daughter in a kimono. But alas not able.

Suggest to use the hotel shuttle from Colmar Tropicale,so as not to tax your car.

We chose the Colmar Tropicale Bukit Tinggi on Berjaya Hills for our first staycation after the second lockdown. Its been almost a year or so. As I just started at this new place. I always try to look for unique places for my kids to experience.

Colmar Tropicale Bukit Tinggi is modeled after a 16th century French Village called Colmar. Something different. The rooms are simple in decorations but clean. The street below is where the action is. There's few restaurants and souvenir shops.

My verdict

The room was simple and clean. Check in was fast. Its nice to walk around just enjoying the cool air. There's pottery painting for the kids and more activities. We just relaxed and enjoy the experience.

You can also visit here on a day trip. Entrance fee will cost you RM14.

We also visited the Japanese Village and also the Rabbit Farm. Which I will share in the next video.

Not much activities were opened. Perhaps due to the pandemic. But it was a nice relaxing stay
