Desa Damai Chalet, Pengkalan Balak, Melaka

Again we headed to Pengkalan Balak, another place called Desa Damai Chalet, Pengkalan Balak, Melaka. As we were unable to travel far because of the lockdown in Selangor. Also, my children miss the beach at Pengkalan Balak. Combined with us having 2 days to spare. I arranged an outing there. The only time we broke that rule was at the Legoland Resort Johor. But that place was special. The last time we stayed at the Kampung Pinang Sebatang Chalet. From there I discovered four little chalets in a little compound. Called Desa Damai Chalet.

Desa Damai Chalet comprise of 4 wooden style chalet. The design of each chalet is of the Traditional Melaka House. Every chalet has a queen bed, coffee making facilities, standing shower with heated water and TV with local channels. I could attach my mobile phone utilizing my Basues USB HUB docking station. So we could watch Netflix. These days TV channels is never an issue when we travel. As long as the TV have HDMI slots. To read my review on the Baseus USB HUB, please click here MY TRAVEL ENTERTAINTMENT HUB – BASEUS 7 IN 1 DOCKING STATION. For the young boys we rented a mattress at only RM30.

For dinner we headed to our favourite spot D’Ribut where serve yummy Prawn Char Kway Teow topped with 4 big prawns. Both days lunch we had at the Mak Jah shop just on the beach after the entrance of Pengkalan Balak. We ate and ate. Food at Pengkalan Balak was really nice.

Colourful Beach Toys
Colourful Floats

My Verdict

A decent spot to have family get-togethers. In the event that you have four families, you have the entire spot to yourselves. They even rent out BBQ pits at just RM30. As the chalets is fenced up with just a little door, my children were allowed to wander around. My girl had fun playing with two little kittens there. Room was quite clean and also the surrounding. They even served breakfast for two with plain tea in morning for breakfast.

I bought two of this Car Backseat Inflatable Air Bed for our travels. As my Perdua Alza have 3 rows of seats, I thought by buying two backseat inflatable beds, I could join them together to make a bigger bed. I have found out that normal inflatable beds is not possible for my MPV due to the shape of the seat. But it was a bad idea cause the kids slipped through the cracks. And also it was really uncomfortable for them.

Well here is my review about this car backseat inflatable bed. There are two air inlets similar to other inflatable bed. The bottom one is for the leg area, sort of a stand holding the bed up. The bed fits most cars and it took me less that 4 minutes to fill both sections.

If you turn the inflatable bed over, you can make it sort of a soda for watching movies outside.

My Verdict

Its convinient if you have a normal sedan and you are travelling alone. As it fits the size of your seat, its quite comfortable for a person below 5 feet. However if you 6 feet like me you have to curl yourself up. But this car seat inflatable air bed will come in handy if you need a comfortable mattress for your kids to sleep.
