When I was studying in Kuala Lumpur, some 30 years ago. I came across a Volkswagen Kombi that have been converted into a campervan complete with a kitchen and a stove. I was so intrigued. The idea of having a campervan to travel was nice.

Until now I still have this idea of buying a Volkswagen Kombi and converting into a campervan. But with present day commitments and kids. It was not practical to buy a Kombi. So I settled for an Alza. But I still watch videos and read articles on setting up Campervans. Thats where I came across this Youtube Channel “24traveller”. Here I saw people converting ordinary cars to campervans and travelling around.
So I planned what items I needed to make my Alza as comfortable for my family of five to travel. We might not sleep in it overnight but it will be nice to just park anywhere and rest comfortably before our next journey.

Well below are the things that I purchased, mainly online to make my mini campervan.
  1. USB Extender – to add length to my usb wire. 2 nos
  2. Magnetic Led Rechargeable Lights 3 nos – incase we stay out late
  3. Picnic Table with benches – For Dining
  4. Camper Shower Bag – for showering and washing up
  5. Fan – 3nos- to cool us
  6. Changing Tent – for changing and showering
  7. Beach Tent – for shaded resting during the day
  8. Mini Solar panels – for electricity
  9. Inflatable beds 2 nos – for sleeping
  10. Car Cooler Bag – for storing cool drinks
  11. A foldable picnic chair
  12. Some plastic plates and cup
Our first camp picnic was at the Pantai Cahaya Negeri in Port Dickson. This place is normally full on weekends with families camping. The place is well lit at night and have toilet facilities until quite late. We didn’t camp overnight but spend the day just on the beach. All in all it was a fruitfull first camp/picnic trip.

So do come back for more of my Travel At Malaysia escapes.

Muzium Kota Lukut, Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan

Muzium Kota Lukut is a small museum on top of the hill near the ruins of an old fort . There is nothing left of the Kota Lukut (Old Fort) but there is the museum that shows you the history of Lukut. Very Interesting. The entrance is free and lots of parking.

Travel at Malaysia at Azmilsyahmi

I am a diehard hotelier who loves to discover new things. I have three wonderful kids. So I love looking for fun things for my kids during my travels. Here are some of the things that we have come across

Japanese Village Bukit Tinggi is located near Colmar Tropicale. The Japanese  Village is located 3.500 feet above sea level.

To get there you have to go up a steep winding road. I suggest you take the Shuttle Bus from Colmar Tropicale so as not to tax your car.

There were supposed to be a Japanese Tea House where you can have tea and take out photos using a kimono. But it was closed. Perhaps it was the weekday. Even the Spa was closed.

03:45 My Verdict

My Verdict :-

Must have been a beautiful place pre covid.

Now the garden looks abandon. Hope they set it back soon. Such a waste. The teahouse and the spa was closed. So wanted to take a photo of my daughter in a kimono. But alas not able.

Suggest to use the hotel shuttle from Colmar Tropicale,so as not to tax your car.

We chose the Colmar Tropicale Bukit Tinggi on Berjaya Hills for our first staycation after the second lockdown. Its been almost a year or so. As I just started at this new place. I always try to look for unique places for my kids to experience.

Colmar Tropicale Bukit Tinggi is modeled after a 16th century French Village called Colmar. Something different. The rooms are simple in decorations but clean. The street below is where the action is. There's few restaurants and souvenir shops.

My verdict

The room was simple and clean. Check in was fast. Its nice to walk around just enjoying the cool air. There's pottery painting for the kids and more activities. We just relaxed and enjoy the experience.

You can also visit here on a day trip. Entrance fee will cost you RM14.

We also visited the Japanese Village and also the Rabbit Farm. Which I will share in the next video.

Not much activities were opened. Perhaps due to the pandemic. But it was a nice relaxing stay
